Film Music. Practices, Theoretical and Methological Perspectives. Studies around Cabiria Project

This volume, published as the result of a research on manuscript and printed film scores held in Turin and Piedmont, collects essays on theory, history, productive processes and practices of film music from different (musicological, aesthetical, ethnomusicological, bibliographical) perspectives. It intends to contribute, also by analysing its prime examples, to the historical research on cinema, to the definition of a scientific methodology when studying this repertoire, and to the debate on soundtrack restoration.
